Morus Needham is from the Llangrannog area, a former Ysgol Bro Teifi pupil, and is currently completing theLevel Activity Leadership apprenticeship at the Urdd’s Llangrannog residential centre.  Morus was nominated for Apprentice of the Month because he is a very polite apprentice who is grateful for every kind of support he receives during his apprenticeship. He responds extremely well to feedback to ensure his work is of the highest quality. He has settled in well to life in Llangrannog and is always keen to help. He keeps up with his course work brilliantly and it was really nice to receive positive feedback about him from teachers recently. During an activity recently, htook the time to ask about the needs of a group of children and madsure everyone was having a good time. Here's a little more information about Morus.

Why did you decide to take up an apprenticeship with the Urdd?

I felt like I wanted to get a qualification through the medium of Welsh and also learn new skills.

What do you enjoy most about the apprenticeship?

I enjoy meeting new people and making friendsI also like the balance between the coursework and the activities here.

In what way has doing the apprenticeship affected your personal development?

I feel much more confident than I was; my communication skills have improved a lot.

In what way has developing your skills (Numeracy, Communication or Digital Literacy) contributed to your apprenticeship?

Developing my digital literacy skills has helped a lot as it allows me to complete my courseworkFurther, developing my communication skills has helped me talk to people more.

Would you like to add something about your story? How have you got to where you are now? What was / is your biggest challenge

I left Ysgol Bro Teifi in June 2024. I was planning to go to college but saw the Urdd’s apprenticeship advert.  I secured the apprenticeship and this is where I am now. The biggest challenge is my age; I'm 16 years old so I don't drive and I find it difficult to do things outside of work without relying on others.
