This is Jess Williams, who’s doing an apprenticeship in ‘Care, Play, Learning and Development’ in an exciting partnership between the Mudiad Meithrin and the Urdd. Jess works at Cylch Meithrin Dolgellau. Here's a chat we had about her apprenticeship and her work at the nursery.

What do you enjoy most about your job and how has the apprenticeship affected your work?

The best thing about the Mudiad Meithrin apprenticeship scheme is being able to improve myself and my understanding within the childcare sector and how to support young children.

What do you think about undertaking an apprenticeship through the medium of Welsh?

Working through the medium of Welsh is great. I love it!

How has doing the apprenticeship affected your personal development?

The scheme has made me see things from a different perspective and given me a better understanding. It has also helped develop my confidence.

Would you recommend someone interested in working with young children to do the course?

Yes, the course is quite challenging, but I get so much out of it!
