What is the scheme?
Are you an organisation that wants to develop your current workforce? Or an individual that’s looking for new opportunities, with no cost? The Urdd are proud to provide Welsh medium or bilingual training for organisations across Wales through its Apprenticeship Scheme funded by the Welsh Government. Staff could undertake an apprenticeship whilst continuing with their current duties and the organisation would benefit from the additional skills.
The Programme
This programme is primarily for those working in regulated childcare settings with children under the age of 8. It is designed for learners in work-based learning. The programme will assess learners’ knowledge and practice through their work and will be able to demonstrate that they understand, and apply in practice, the principles and values which underpin children’s care, play, learning and development. Learners will understand, and apply in practice, child-centred approaches to care, play, learning and development and reflect on practice to continuously improve, and understand job roles and functions within the childcare sector
Who for?
The level 2 programme is perfect for individuals who are working a minimum of 16 hours a week in a support role in a nursery, cylch meithrin or primary school with children under 8 years of age. The level 3 programme for individuals who are working 16 hours a week and are undertaking roles and responsibilities of a level 3 worker.
