As part of the preparations for the Wales v Georgia game in Nantes, 'Play in Welsh' sessions were held in primary schools in Lorient and Nantes by the Urdd's sports and arts staff. Created by the Urdd, 'Play in Welsh' is a program that introduces the Welsh language and culture to children in a fun way: through games and various activities.
Over the course of a week, Urdd staff managed to visit 8 schools in Brittany. It was a special experience for everyone to share the Welsh language and culture with the children and teachers of Lorient and Nantes, but also to learn more about Breton traditions.
Following the success of the trip, the Urdd would like to develop its relationship with Brittany, with the hope of traveling there again soon.
