In March 2020, an exciting new partnership was launched between the Urdd and TG Lurgan, a youth organization in Ireland.
Who is TG Lurgan?
TG Lurgan is a special youth organization in Ireland. Their aim is to promote the Irish language and make the language appealing to young people through contemporary songs. Their YouTube channel features dozens of impressive musical productions in Irish and has attracted millions of viewers!
March 2020
The partnership between the two youth organizations was launched in Dublin in March 2020. Members of the Urdd from Aelwyd yr Ynys, Anglesey, gave a musical performance in Welsh following the style of TG Lurgan productions, which take current songs and recreate them in Irish. A musical performance was also given by members of TG Lurgan.
The launch was part of Wales Week Dublin 2020, organized by the Welsh Government.
