Thinking Skills and Problem-Solving
A key part of the day is problem-solving and team working. The nature of the activities encourages individuals to contribute to tasks, make decisions, and use a range of thinking skills. The activities enable pupils to gain a deeper understanding of areas, be more critical of evidence, make judgments, and make reasoned decisions instead of jumping to conclusions.
Health and Wellbeing
One of the main aims of the day is to promote the health and well-being of children and young people. Wellbeing includes good physical health, feelings of happiness, and successful social functioning. The activities influence how children interact in their environment and maximize their learning potential.
Welsh Culture
Our center is situated in one of the city's best areas – Cardiff Bay. With some of the capital’s main attractions right on our doorstep, the course gives pupils great experiences to embrace their Welsh heritage and traditions. By seeing well-known buildings such as the Senedd and Wales Millennium Centre, pupils will have the opportunity to learn more about the culture and history of Wales which will strengthen their sense of identity and nationality.
Siarter Iaith
Welsh is the language of all the centres life and activity. As a result, the course will meet many of the requirements of the Siarter Iaith. A trip to Gwersyll Caerdydd will help build confidence and an opportunity to see the Welsh language is fun and a natural resource for children and young people through individual and team activities.
