What is not needed

Do not allow your child to bring expensive personal belongings such as ipods, phones, game consoles, etc. Due to Health and Safety rules, pocketknife, aerosol sprays (use roll-on deodorant), portable electric equipment e.g. hair dryers, straighteners and travel irons are not permitted.

Any valuable items can be kept at reception for safe keeping e.g. cameras, watches, money etc. and used as and when is required.

* The Urdd’s Residential Centres will not be responsible for any loss or damage to personal belongings.

Phone

We advise that you do not arrange for your child to call home at the start of the camp. Unless you hear from us you will know that your child is healthy and enjoying the experience. We can assure you that if it is necessary to contact you (e.g. illness or bad homesickness) we will do so immediately.

If you want to send a message to your child, you can do so through the Residential Centre’s reception. We will pass on your message.

Problems

Your child can visit the Centre’s main office if any problems arise. The matter will be dealt with immediately.

Health certificate

It is essential that all parents/guardians complete a health certificate on behalf of the child. It will be sent to you before the camp starts. Please provide details of any illness or problems the child may have, and a telephone number should we need to contact you.
