What to expect at the Urdd’s Summer Camps?
Since the 1930s thousands of children and young people in Wales have benefited from the Urdd’s Summer Camps.
This is an opportunity for children to enjoy an independent holiday away from home under the care and supervision of the Urdd's experienced and professional staff (24 hours a day).
Choose from 20 camps which are held throughout the summer holidays for children aged 8 – 18 years old across the Urdd four residentials centres.
Location and activities
The activities vary at each camp. From stays which are full of adventure to creative, performance, nature and well-being camps – there’s something for everyone.
Pentre Ifan Residential Centre specialises in nature, the environment and the well-being of children and young people. Offering magical experiences between sea and mountain in north Pembrokeshire. Pentre Ifan’s summer camp activities include yoga, mindfulness, star gazing, SUP, a trip to the Preseli mountains and much more.
Located in Cardiff Bay; under the roof of the Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff's summer camps offer your child an urban experience. With camps specialising in creation and performance for children who enjoy being creative, composing and performing. The activity schedule is full of trips to some of Cardiff's biggest attractions, such as the Principality Stadium, Cardiff Castle and fun activities such as swimming and ten pin bowling.

The Welsh language
Welsh is the language at the Urdd's summer camps.
There are 5 specific camps for learners. The ethos is to learn through activities and experiences that introduce learners in a Welsh environment where Welsh is a living language.
If your child is learning Welsh, one of the Welsh Learners Camps may be more appropriate.
Safety and care
All the activities are led and carried out under the supervision of the Urdd's experienced and qualified staff.
Your child will receive 24 hours a day supervision. We ensure that the children know where to turn in an emergency, during the day and at night. There is a night watchman on duty throughout the night. In addition, there are security cameras at all four Centres. Rooms and corridors have a unique electronic key card system to ensure security. All Urdd staff have had a (DBS) check.
Year on year, parents share feedback that our "staff are supportive, friendly and professional.”
Rest assured; your child is in safe hands.
Fund for All
