A chat with Daniel Evans

Apprentice of the Month, May 2022

Daniel Evans is from Bryn Iwan, near Cynwyl Elfed. He received his education at Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Bro Myrddin and is currently completing an Activity Leadership apprenticeship with the Urdd. Here’s a little about him!

Why did you decide to take on an apprenticeship with the Urdd?

I wanted to try something different from school, so the Llangrannog apprenticeship attracted my attention.

What do you enjoy most about your apprenticeship?

Meeting new people and to be able to do outdoor activities daily!

How important is it to do your apprenticeship through the medium of Welsh?

I really like being able to do an apprenticeship through the medium of Welsh, because before this year, I rarely got a chance to speak Welsh.

What are your interests outside of work?

I enjoy football, rugby and going out with the boys!

How has doing the apprenticeship affected your personal development?

I feel I have gained more confidence in being able to talk to new people.

What are you hoping to do after completing the apprenticeship?

No idea!

Briefly describe your duties.

Making sure participants have fun doing activities and making sure they do it safely!
