To complete the Silver Expedition unit, you will have to:

Register online and pay a deposit to secure a place, with the remaining cost paid before the training day. A link will be shared to pay the remaining cost. If not paid, participant may be refused to take part in the activity.

You must participate in the training day before the expeditions, no matter how much you already know – this is so we can ensure that you receive the right training before taking part in the expedition. We will also share some important information throughout the training day.

  • Walk as a group of 4-7 members 
  • As part of a group, you must write a meal plan and daily route cards for each expedition 
  • As a group, you must come up with an aim to complete over the expeditions 
  • You must be self-sufficient for the whole of the expedition and walking will be your mode of transport 
  • Camp overnight in a tent

You will need your EDofE participant number to register online. To get an EDofE number, you must register with a Licenced Organisation (e.g school, youth group). Please contact the Duke of Edinburgh Award if you are unsure on houw to do this. We advise that your EDofE be upgraded to Silver before the expedition at least
