Scholarships and awards

A scholarship for young communicators who want to inspire people to take an interest in the natural world and the environmental issues affecting Wales.

For: Individuals aged 18 to 25.

The scholarship: A choice between a week-long visit to Triglav National Park in Slovenia or attending a EUROPARC conference elsewhere in Europe.

How it works: You can submit a Welsh-language communication piece in any format, including a film, blog, audio piece, article, story, poster or cartoon.

An award recognising a young vocal soloist who shows particular promise on the Eisteddfod stage.

For: Vocal soloists from Year 10 to under 19 who are competing in eligible vocal categories.

The scholarship: The Mrs Olwen Phillips Scholarship, together with a gift from the Melbourne Welsh Church in Australia.

How it works: The winner is selected from the eligible competitors, so there is no separate scholarship competition to enter.

An opportunity for young artists to present a collection of Art, Design or Technology work in any medium.

For: Individuals from Year 10 to under 25.

The scholarship: £2,000 to put towards a course at a recognised art school or college, or to support the artist in developing a career in their chosen field.

How it works: You will need to submit photographs or a video of your work, together with a Welsh summary explaining your ideas and creative process. Competitors will be invited to present their work to a panel of judges.
